1. Use the correct after care products:

It is really important that you use a shampoo and conditioner with approved ingredients, the right balance of moisture and protein, as well as ideally containing keratin to extend the life of your treatment.

It can be hard to find products that meet all the criteria, so we’ve done it for you:

Heat protection is such a non negotiable for us that every keratin treatment now comes with a free keratin spray that protects from heat and UV, detangles, and speeds up drying. Trust us, use it, your hair will thank you.

2. When to do your first shampoo:

Gone are the days of waiting 24, 48 or even 72 hours, you can wash your hair as soon as you like! With the express service, your hair might feel a bit yuck when you leave, so you’ll probably want to wash it pretty quickly.

With the full service we usually recommend washing your hair the morning after your keratin treatment, although if you’d like to wait for your next “everything shower” a few more days is okay too with one simple rule: no heat over 180º!

If you use a high temperature to blow-dry, straighten or curl your hair before completely washing the keratin out, you may find you’re over heating the keratin product which can result in heat damage and possible colour/toner fading.

When you do shampoo (using your approved products of course), sometimes it can take 2 or 3 shampoos to remove the slippery keratin feeling from your hair, so feel free to rinse and repeat! Follow up with conditioner and then…

3. To get the smoothest finish, use heat:

Keratin is a heat activated smoother, even if you want to let your hair dry naturally, pop in a bit of heat protector and quickly use a hairdryer on warm/hot for 1 minute, this will tame a large majority of fluffies and give you a smoother result – remember your hair is going to dry a lot faster, so using the hairdryer won’t be the laborious task it once was, and your hair will be sooo much smoother at the end!

4. Live your life with your pretty new hair!
